Custom Portraits on Paper

Your horse, hand-painted over one of my base equine compositions.

Each portrait begins with a fine-art print that provides the pose, angle, and composition. Choose a reference photo of your horse that matches one of my available base portraits, and I’ll hand-paint your horse over the original image.

This process allows me to create a personalized, hand-painted portrait in less time and at a more accessible price than an original canvas commission.

    Choose Your Base Model

Select the base that feels closest in face shape, pose, or body type, it does not need to match your horse’s color.
If the color happens to match your horse’s structure, great! But it isn’t required. Choose whichever base you’re most drawn to; I’ll take it from there.

    Then, select your preferred size:

    • 8Ɨ10″ – perfect for display
    • 16Ɨ20″ – a statement piece worthy of framing

This becomes the canvas I will hand-embellish to bring your horse to life.

Provide Your Horse’s Photos and Marking Details

Upload multiple clear reference photos of your horse, ideally including one taken from the same perspective as your chosen base print.

Be sure to include a short written description of any distinctive markings, as well as close-up photos of features like socks, scars, brands, dapples, or other details.

This helps me capture your horse’s expression, build, and individuality accurately.

I Transform The Base Into Your Horse

Using your photos and description as my guide, I reshape and recolor the base to create a near-exact likeness. I can:
        •    Change the coat to any color
        •    Add or remove markings
        •    Adjust weight, muscle tone, or overall stature
        •    Refine the face structure and expression
        •    Add the distinctive details that make your horse your horse
